Willamette Valley Vineyards 2018 Bernau Block Chardonnay

Willamette Valley Vineyards 2018 Bernau Block Chardonnay

Willamette Valley Vineyard's founder Jim Bernau planted this block of Dijon clone Chardonnay grapes in 1993 and this wine spent 10 months on French oak, 28% of it new barrels. The result is creamy, but bright fruit is still the star. On the palate, it shows nice weight with mouthcoating flavors of Meyer lemon and tart tropical fruits, finishing with lingering notes of orange-apricot oil. It presents creamy aromas of lemon curd that mix with baking spice-dusted yellow apple and a hint of beeswax.
