Not all great Oregon Pinots come from the Willamette Valley and this one from Southern Oregon's Umpqua Valley offers a beautiful nose of fresh raspberry mixed with Allspice and earthy notes alluding to herbes de Provence and sweet potting soil. On the palate, the flavors of slightly tart red cherries mix with clove spice before giving way to a beautifully structured finish revealing notes of cocoa, dried leaves and hibiscus tea, all wrapped around a frame of muscular, but integrated tannins. - Reviewed by Gary Hayes
