Perennial Vintners 2019 Rubrus

Perennial Vintners 2019 Rubrus

This interesting red wine blend includes 70% Zweigelt, 20% Fruhburgunder and 10% Pinot Noir from the Puget Sound AVA. Zweigelt is a modern hybrid developed in Austria that is now that country's most planted varietal and Fruhburgunder is a Pinot Noir mutation and an early ripening grape. All three varietals produce tart and fruity wines that can be very food friendly. This blend delivers grippy acids alluding to tart cherry and pomegranate, that are joined by earthy-herbal notes of hibiscus, finishing with hints of blood orange. Floral and herbal aromas are most prominent on the nose, mixing with notes of red berries and hints of gunsmoke and baking spice.
