Finn Hill Winery 2014 L'abime Syrah

This is a complex and fruit forward Syrah with enough savory and spicy notes and ample tannic structure to pack a punch with finesse. Complex aromas start with dark fruit alluding to plum and blueberries with notes of cigar box, milk chocolate, green peppercorn, smoke-cured meat and a hint of vanilla. On the palate it's juicy with flavors of plum sauce mixing with notes of baking spices, cocoa, white pepper and smoky undertones, then a finish showing the acidity of plum skin and a touch of graphite minerality. - Reviewed by Gary Hayes
