Coyote Canyon Winery 2013 H/H Estates Reserve Michael Andrews Red
Published: November 24, 2017
This wine combines the structure and earthiness of Tempranillo with the dark fruit, denseness and aromatic qualities of Graciano, a grape that is used as a blending grape in Spanish Rioja Gran Reservas. In this case, 2013 produced an outstanding crop of Graciano and it takes center stage (75%) in this blend. Dark and complex aromas reveal dried blueberries, raisin box, cedar and sweet tobacco with hints of dark chocolate, bay leaf and black peppercorns. Flavors of dried cherries, cocoa and mineral notes of graphite are delivered on a bright frame that lingers to a finish showing dark chocolate with hints of cinnamon and peppery spice. - Reviewed by Gary Hayes
