Chemeketa Cellars 2017 Riesling

The wine studies program at Salem, Oregon's Chemeketa Community College has produced some stellar wines and their 2017 Riesling is another winner. The wine was an experimental reserve trial and the result is clean and crisp, just slightly off-dry. It radiates aromas of crisp green apple and lime zest with hints of fresh basil, ginger and petrol. On the palate, it delivers a punch of citrus, notably grapefruit, before a finish displaying notes of tart nectarine on a clean, lingering finish. This is the style of wine you look for to be the perfect complement to seafood or butter sauces.
