Although Cabernet Franc is usually in a supporting role, this Best of Class Bordeaux blend leads with the grape in a blend that includes 46% Cabernet Franc, 38% Merlot and 16% Malbec. On the nose, jammy blackberry and dried cherry aromas meld with notes of cedar, allspice, vanilla and hints of dried herbs. On the palate, it delivers a juicy mouthfeel and bright fruit alluding to black cherry and blueberry, a lively dusting of baking spices emerging on the mid-palate with notes of dark chocolate and hints of earthy graphite on the lingering finish.
