Nearly 200 Gold Medals for Northwest wines were awarded during the recently completed 2026 Savor Northwest Wine Awards competition in Cannon Beach, Oregon. The 16th annual Savor Northwest competition featured nine professional wine judges from the Pacific Northwest and beyond who assessed several hundred wines from Oregon, Washington, Idaho and British Columbia in a blind tasting over three days.
Six Northwest wineries earned Savor Northwest's Excellence in Winemaking Award by capturing five or more top awards for their wines in the competition. Topping the list was Chelan, Washington's Tsillan Cellars who claimed a whopping 13 total top awards including two Best of Class wines, three Double Gold Medals and eight Gold Medals. Oregon's King Estate Winery had nine top awards including a Best of Class wine, three Double Gold Medals and five Gold Medals. Other 2026 Savor Northwest Winery of Excellence Awards went to Washington's Jones of Washington with seven top placing wines and Palencia Winery with six. It should be noted that Victor Palencia is the winemaker for both Palencia Winery and Jones of Washington. Roseburg, Oregon's Reustle Prayer Rock Vineyards also claimed one Best of Class award and five Gold Medals to earn the Winery of Excellence Award. Reustle's 2024 Gruner Veltliner Estate Selection was named Savor Northwest's White Wine of the Year. Sidereus Vineyard & Winery claimed five top awards including Savor Northwest's Wine of the Year for their 2022 Bull's Blend, a Columbia Valley red blend. Their other awards included two Double Gold Medals and two Gold Medals.
Coyote Canyon Winery claimed the award for Best Rose Wine of the Year with their 2025 Life is Rose, a rose of Barbera. The Sparkling Wine of the Year went to Chris James Cellars for their 2024 Sparkling Pinot Noir Rose. Four wineries earned four top awards including Oregon's Chris James Cellars, Puffin Wines, Rellik and Watermill Winery; and Idaho's Rolling Hills Vineyard.
