Whidbey Island Winery 2014 Grenache

With grapes from Washington's Horse Heaven Hills, this Grenache presents a tempting nose alluding to raspberry sauce with notes of chocolate, clove and black peppercorn. Flavors of grilled plum are upfront, but are nicely balanced with bright notes of grapefruit and spice before a beautifully structured dry finish showing a hint of clay pot minerality. - Reviewed by Gary Hayes
