Spoiled Dog Winery 2017 Deception

Deception is a Bordeaux varietal red blend from Spoiled Dog Winery in Langley, Washington consisting of 57% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Franc and 7% Malbec from Yakima Valley. On the nose, dark berry and herbal-floral aromas mix enticingly with notes of Allspice, leather and black peppercorn. On the palate, it delivers a juicy mouth feel with flavors alluding to blackberry and dark chocolate truffles with a dash of clove before revealing a delightfully lingering graphite minerality on a refined finish. - Reviewed by Gary Hayes
