Ruby Magdalena Vineyards 2015 Estate Graciano

Ruby Magdalena Vineyards 2015 Estate Graciano

Graciano is a Spanish varietal, a key blending grape in Rioja Gran Reservas, and this is one of the rare stand-alone wines made from the varietal in the Northwest. With fruit from Rattlesnake Hills, this wine from Zillah, Washington's Ruby Magdalena Vineyards offers perfumed aromas of violet with notes of sweet tobacco, licorice, clove and dark chocolate wrapped around dark berry jam. On the palate, it delivers a streak of tart cherry balanced with earthy mineral notes alluding to clay pot and more violet. It's firm acid structure promises to pair well with red sauces, sausage or pizza. - Reviewed by Gary Hayes
