Girardet Vineyards 2017 Estate Grown Riesling

The 2020 Best of Class Riesling from the SavorNW Wine Awards competition came from Southern Oregon's Giradet Vineyards with this slightly off-dry entry that displays remarkable balance. On the nose, bright citrus and green apple aromas mix with trademark Riesling petroleum notes. On the palate, bright acidity grabs you and doesn't let go with flavors alluding to limeade with orange zest before a long, lingering finish showing Meyer lemon. This would be a versatile food wine for seafood, butter and cream sauces or slightly spicy dishes. - Reviewed by Gary Hayes
