Comforts of Whidbey 2016 Madeleine Sylvaner

Comforts of Whidbey 2016 Madeleine Sylvaner

This lesser-known white wine varietal creates light, aromatic wines and its early ripening makes it an option for growing in cooler western areas of the Northwest. On the nose are aromas of honeydew melon, celery, lilac and notes of custard with a dusting of nutmeg. On the palate, it promises to be a good match with mild seafoods hitting notes alluding to lime, tart pineapple and melon rind with an underlying minerality. - Reviewed by Gary Hayes
