Bateaux Cellars 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon

Ripe fruit finds a deft balance with earthy and savory notes in this beautifully structured Cabernet Sauvignon with nicely integrated tannins. On the nose, ripe blackberries and dried fig mingle with aromas of pipe tobacco, cedar, clove spice and dried herbs. On the palate, flavors of black cherry, blueberry and black plum mix with earthy notes of clay dust, cocoa, graphite and a touch of red bell pepper, then a nicely structured finish reveals flavors of smoke, plum skin and notes of black pepper. - Reviewed by Gary Hayes
