This Rhone blend contains 44% Syrah, 39% Grenache and 17% Mourvedre. On the nose, blackberry jam mixes seamlessly with savory aromas of smoked and cured meat along with notes of black peppercorn, allspice and dried herbs. Silky smooth and juicy on the palate, flavors of clove-spiced blueberry sauce are predominant upfront, then notes of cocoa are revealed before leading to a lingering dry finish alluding to more dried herbs with juicy tannins beautifully constraining the dark fruit. - Reviewed by Gary Hayes
