This Syrah from Snohomish, Washington's Alia Wines is made with grapes from Washington's Wahluke Slope AVA. It offers bold and complex aromatics of jammy black fruit, cedar, black peppercorn, sweet tobacco, smoky bacon fat and Allspice. On the palate, it alludes to a spiced plum sauce with notes of chocolate and prominent clove spice that lingers through a lengthy and lively finish. - Reviewed by Gary Hayes
