This Syrah-based blend also includes Merlot, Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon and Mourvedre offering bold and complex aromas of fresh ground coffee, black licorice, spicy camphor wood and smoky embers. This is a big wine that manages to straddle big flavors with a refined balance. Flavors open with bright plum, black cherry, vanilla and cola, leading to a persistent clove spice finish with hints of herbs de Provence. Pour this one with your next barbecue or grilled steak. There's a solid backbone of acidity to hold up to a burger or tomato sauces.
