Oliver Twist Estate Winery 2017 Meritage Proprietor's Reserve

This Bordeaux style red blend from British Columbia's Okanagan Valley is comprised of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon blended with smaller amounts of Merlot and Malbec, aged for 12 months in French and American oak, then allowed a further 18 months in bottle. On the nose, dark fruit alluding to dried fig is joined by complex aromas of earth, leather, baking spice and dried herbs. On the palate, it's juicy with upfront flavors of blackberry and dark chocolate framed by firm, textured tannins carrying earthy notes of cocoa, clay dust and graphite. This wine has a promising upside with more time in the bottle.
